Mercedes Benz Interior Components
Eventually, a part becomes so infrequently used that an OEM will no longer produce it. Injection molding is a process that is ideal for the 100's of thousands of parts, not just 100s of parts. What do you do when you still need a part, but a lot fewer of them? You 3D print them.

Due to decreased demand, Mercedes Benz ceased injection molding of specific trim clips that hold the interior fabric of the vehicle to its frame. This provided Jett 3D with the opportunity to reverse-engineer and improve the OEM design for owners of the classic model cars. The new design and material allows the clips to have an extended lifetime compared to the originals. Fun fact: the very last remaining new OEM part was used as reference part for the reproduction.
