“Jett 3D reverse-engineered the part using one of the last available, original trim clips in the world.”
Material sciences was at the forefront of this automotive project. The 3D parts were to replace OEM windshield washer hose connectors, meaning they had to withstand water, detergent, and alcohol. The Jett team reverse engineered the part and then began the process of researching and testing 3D printing materials. After testing four materials, we landed on Carbon's EPX 82 polypropylene-like epoxy resin. Production runs of the parts are ongoing.
