Parson's Runway Accessories
A recent Beyonce cover shoot pushed 3D printed fashion to the forefront. The pieces can be design to fit the wearer perfectly and utilize a number of different materials, textures, and colors. The 3D printing process also allows for production of geometries that are impossible with traditional manufacturing.

“The designs needed to be custom fitted to suit the runway models that would be wearing them.”
As part of their MFA program, Parson's fashion students are required to create custom apparel and showcase it in a runway show. An ambitious student came to us with the idea of 3D printing a custom bra and accessories. The parts were custom designed to fit the model's measurements, 3D printed in a durable nylon, and dyed to the desired blue color. An important factor in successfully 3D modeling the digital design was considering the material properties, such as flexibility and weight.
